HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROBERT PLANT

Robert Plant is an English singer and songwriter best known as lead vocalist of the legendary rock band, Led Zeppelin. Formed in 1968, some of this group’s most famous songs include “Stairway to Heaven”, “Black Dog”, “Rock and Roll”, and today’s song choice (that can be listened to by clicking on the provided link).

After Led Zeppelin broke up (in 1980), Robert Plant embarked on a solo career (as himself and as part of the Honeydrippers). Some of his biggest hits include “Tall Cool One”, “Big Log”, and “Sea of Love”. In 1995, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (as a member of Led Zeppelin), and in 2005, the band received the prestigious Grammy Lifetime Achievement award.

On this very day, August 20th 1948, Robert Anthony Plant was born in Staffordshire, England. In celebration of his birthday, exactly 76 years ago today, I’ve chosen a cool rock track that can be found on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the “500 Greatest Songs of All-Time”. Released in November 1969, here’s Led Zeppelin, featuring today’s birthday boy, ROBERT PLANT, with “WHOLE LOTTA LOVE”….
